Smile design is an adaptation of your teeth to your gums, lips and face shape for an aesthetic smile. Many treatment procedures are used to achieve an aesthetic smile. These are bleaching, gum contouring, bonding, implants, laminates and zirconium, Cerec® and Emax® veneers.
So how do we decide which full veneer to choose? Emax® Crown, Cerec® Crowns or zirconium crowns?
Emax is a pressed porcelain variety. Emax® Crowns are designed with computer and made with cad cam devices. They look very natural and aesthetic. But Emax® can only be used safely in the anterior region teeth, can not withstand chewing pressure in the back region teeth.
We prefer zirconium veneers for teeth in the back region.
Zirconium is a white metal variety. We use it under porcelain to increase durability. Thus zirconium veneers become durable thanks to zirconium and aesthetic thanks to porcelain.
Cerec® Crows is a brand of zirconium. They are designed with computer and made cad cam devices in a short time. Porcelain can be added to the front surface of the Cerec® crowns with cut back technique to achieve color matching.
Which material to use for smile design should be decided together with the dentist according to occlusal closure of the patient teeth, eating habits, aesthetic expectations, the financial situation.
