Snoring Prosthesis

What are snoring and sleep apnea?

Soft palate, uvula and tongue base lose their tautness especially with over weighted people. Those loose tissues vibrate during the air flow and strike each other and cause snoring. When those tissues collapse and upper airway is congested, it is called a sleep apnea.

What are harms of snoring and sleep apnea?

Not being able to breathe easily, the person can not descend into deep sleep, known as REM. An unhealthy sleep pattern causes lack of concentration, fatigue and loss of motivation.

Prolonged suffering from obstructive sleep apnea often causes decrease in oxygen in the blood, higher blood pressure and cardiac dilatation.

Sleep apnea which is obstruction of air flow, might cause serious problems such as hemiplegia or stroke.

Who are the sufferers of snoring and sleep apnea?

  • Overweighted people
  • People using myorelaxants, tranquillisers
  • People under severe stress
  • Frequent use of tobacco and alcohol
  • People having a large tongue and soft palate genetically

What are the treatments for snoring?

Three kinds of treatment are available for snoring.

  1. Surgery of soft palate and uvula.
  2. CPAP mask
  3. Snoring prosthesis

While surgery can not be suitable for all patients, CPAP masks are high priced and difficult to use (constantly blowing air and causes dry nose, and is a big and noisy device)

How are the Snoring Prosthesis used?

Snoring prosthesis which are placed on tooth while sleeping, locates the jaw bone forward and below. This helps to stretch the loose tissues and expands the airway. It prevents snoring and sleep apnea.

  • It is inexpensive and easy to use.
  • No surgery needed.
  • You can benefit from it beginning from the first day of usage.
